All About Your People!

Photobucket

Well it’s here & I hope lots of you will play along. Since our people do such a good job of blogging for us, I thought we could get a little recognition.

The only rules are that I ask you to copy and past the button at the top of my sidebar & then add your post to my Mr. Linky. We’ll be leaving Mr. Linky up all weekend for you to add your link.

Try to visit as many links as you can, so that we can all make new friends.

O.K., about me. I live with my mom person, my dad person & my boys John & Jack. John’s girlfriend is here a lot too, so I’m going to include her too.

We live in Waterford, Michigan in the U.S. Right about here.

me

For any of you outside of the U.S., Michigan is shaped like a mitten, so we can always tell people where we live by holding up our hands, well people can, paws don’t work so well.

This is my dad person, Chris.

Photobucket

He is 41 years old & works for a local college in the admissions department. He came into a ready-made family of my mom person & John & Jack. My people have been married almost 7 years. My dad person loves the outdoors & going camping when he isn’t working about 42,879 per week. He’s also an awesome cook & sometimes I get to eat some of his yummy food.

Here is my mom person, Pam. She also blogs under the name Mimi. I guess it was her nick name when she was little & she still likes it.

Photobucket

She used to work all the time, but she has been sick the past few years. She has something called bi-polar depression, and last year she got a tummy sickness called gastroparesis. This means that the muscles in her tummy don’t munch up the food well, so she has lost lots of weight since that picture was taken and spent way too much time in the hospital. She’s doing better now, but the depressions & the tummy problems won’t ever go away. She say that I am one of her best medicines!

She reads lots of books, blogs a lot, and watches way too much TV. Shows called NCIS & Criminal Minds are her favorites. She is 43 years old.

My oldes boy is John David. He is 18. His girlfriend is LeighAnne. She moved away from her house for college and now lives close to us. They have been together almost a year and a half.

Photobucket

John is studying for his GED and plans on going to college in the fall to take some classes. John pays lots of attention to me & you can usually find me protecting him during thunder storms.

Here’s me & John after I helped him plant some trees for my dad person’s birthday.

Photobucket

This is my youngest boy, Jack. He just turned 15 and will be going somewhere called high school in September.

Photobucket

Jack only lives here half the time. He spends the other half of the time with his dad person, so we miss him sometimes. (John & Jack are both from my mom person’s first marriage.) Jack didn’t like me when I first came to live here. I used my needle-like puppy teeth to bite his face alot, but he has forgiven me now.

Both of my boys love music, video games and hanging out with friends, which doesn’t include me!

Now it’s your turn to add your link. Please put the link to your actual All About Your People post, not just the main link to your blog, so when friends visit, they don’t have to hunt around.

The Look Of Handsomeness!

Well today was the dreaded grooming day. I can’t say that I cared for it, but since it’s been so hot here & since my handsomeness was being slightly compromised I consented & look at me now!

Photobucket

Photobucket

I am fully re-schnauzed as my mom person says. Here’s a full body shot. Notice the very large stick I am protecting my mom person from.

Photobucket

Also here’s a shot of me supervising my mom person mailing out my GABE prizes to Bella. What’s that I hear you saying? Oh yes, you’re right GABE ended ages ago! My mom person has tried unsuccessfully to mail this out twice to Australia & gotten it wrong both times! This time I am supervising to make sure she does it right.

Photobucket

I’m so very sorry, Bella for the seeming incompetence of my help. Sometimes it’s hard always trying to supervise people.

Photobucket

I’ve had a great response to my All About Your People Day & I really appreciate it.

Photobucket

I’ve had a couple of questions about what we should blog about. I would suggest as much as your people are comfortable sharing. Here are some examples:

What do your people do for work?

Where do you live?

What do your people like to do when not hanging out with you?

Do they have a history with your breed or type of animal?

Do you live with other fur-kids that don’t usually get mentioned on your blog?

Do you have human pups at your house?

Really anything. The more you share the more we’ll know about the people who are lucky enough to have you for an owner! (My mom person says technically she owns me, silly human.)

If you have any more questions please let me know. I’m planning on putting up a Mr. Linky on Friday, July 16th & leaving it open for people to all their links all weekend. I hope it will be a great way to get to know more about each other!

Blog About Your People Day!

Photobucket

After Frankie’s great Fourth of July Name Game, I thought I would try a game of my own. I would like to know more about everybodies people!

Do you have a human mom person & a human dad person? Do you have human brothers or sisters, either teenagers, like mine, or human pups? Where do you live?

I would love to know more about all of you, see pictures of your people and where you live.

Starting next Friday, July 16th, my mom person will put a Mr. Linky on my blog for everyone to hook up their people posts. We will leave it up for the weekend for people to link up whatever day is most convenient for them.

Will you play along? Please spread the word to all of your bloggie friends by including the button in your post (it’s at the top of my sidebar) & you can even put it on your sidebar now if you want for people to come learn about “People Day”.

I hope you all join me!

What A Week!

Camera Critters
We’ve had quite a week here in Oskarville! The heat was in the high 90’s until yesterday so not too many walkies or playing.

My mom person had her birthday yesterday. My dad person got her a new computer that should work full time instead of only sometimes like the old one.

My oldest boy John got my mom person a giant blue monkey.

When I say giant blue monkey, I don’t mean a large blue monkey.
When I say giant blue monkey, I don’t mean an oversized monkey.
When I say giant blue monkey, I mean giant blue monkey.
Here is my mom person & I in the backyard with the giant blue monkey.

Photobucket

The giant blue monkey thought about trying to get my octopus toy, but luckily for me, he’s not very quick!

Photobucket

Here is my youngest boy Jack with the giant blue monkey.

Photobucket

My mom person says that for reference I should tell you that Jack is 5 feet, 7 inches tall.

There is a hummingbird feeder outside of the window where my person sits at her computer, and she keeps seeing hummingbirds, but can’t get a good picture of them. They’re too quick & wily for her.

Here’s a drawing I made of what it would look like if my mom person could get a picture.
Photobucket

(In the picture the hummingbird doesn’t have any wings, cause they flutter too fast to really be seen!)

See what all the other Camera Critters are up to.

The Name Game!

Photobucket
My lovely friend Asta, posted about the Fourth Of July Name Game that Frankie Furter is hosting, so I though I’d play along.
My dad person is of 100 percent German heritage, and when they were trying to pick a dog my mom person wanted a girl doggie named Pansy. They looked at French bulldogs, pugs & lots of others before they settled on a miniature schnauzer. They found an awesome breeder close by and made a deposit for me.
While driving to pick me out they were trying to come up with names. They had already been told that all of the girls puppies had been spoken for, so they chose me. I was the first one born, & at birth had a tiny white beard.
Since miniature schnauzers are German like my dad person, they decided a German name would be fitting. They decided on Oskar (the German spelling) Wilhelm. After spending time with me, they knew the name suited me.
Me with my real mom. She was an all white MS who was bred with an all black MS. She had 8 all black babies. It was quite funny watching them all feed from this snow white mommy!
Photobucket
Here’s me at one week. You can see the tiny dot of my white beard if you look closely. I’ve outgrown it now.
Photobucket
Being coy.
Photobucket
Me at 4 weeks. My breeders were really good about sending picture updates to my people.
Photobucket
And here’s me after I got my first big-boy schnauzer cut. I’m busy keeping this elephant from terrorizing the younger puppies!
Photobucket.
So there’s a brief history of me. I guess I should mention my technical name. My AKC papers read Mimi’s Oskar Diamond Magic. My mom person, goes by Mimi, even though her name is Pam. Oskar I’ve already explained, Diamond is because she won front row center tickets from a radio contest to see Neil Diamond, but sold them to pay for me & Magic because that’s the name of the radio station that she won the tickets from.
I hope you’ve enjoyed your look back at baby me and finding out all about my early days.

My So-Called Birthday

Camera CrittersPhotobucket
If you read my last post you know my people forgot my birthday this year. My mom person says she accidentally wrote it in on July 28th, instead of June 28th. I don’t see her forgetting either of my boy’s birthdays!
I had hoped that as a couple of you suggested, there was a surprise party planned. I woke up eagerly and hoped to see all of my friends, but alas, no party.
I decided to use the guilt method of people reinforcement with my people. This can be very a very effective way to train forgetful people. You just have to stay consistent.
First my guilting brought about a meager offering. A lowly piece of bologna. Hmm.
Photobucket
My next attempt was met with a little more success, some popcorn shrimp.
Photobucket
Tasty, but I could have used a little cocktail sauce. Then I got to help my boy John plant another tree. Since I was working so hard supervising, John picked me up & let me just observe.
Photobucket
Playing had not been done, so I brought my trust octopus, and let them know what should come next. I even stood it up nicely all by myself.
Photobucket
Then today when my dad broke down some chicken breasts, he made me a plate of chicken bits. Delightful.
Photobucket
Photobucket
I got to go to the pet supply store today, but was not allowed to pick out a belated squeaky toy! Some nonsense about me always tearing the stuffin’s out of my stuffies. Is it my fault is my toys need surgery!!!
I guess I’m pretty spoiled every day, so birthday’s aren’t that important, but next year I am hoping for a little more effort from my people!
Check out what all the Camera Critters are doing!
Also join in on the Saturday Pet Blogger Hop.
