Meet My Friends Marley & Henry!

I recently met a new friend named Marley with a really interesting story to tell!

“I’m a black and tan standard dachshund. I’m Chinese. My Lady is American and we live in north India. How’s that for multicultural? I’m adopted. My first family left China when I was almost three and never came back. Only Dad returned after six months to sell the furniture and find me a home. Dad heard about Lady and asked her if she were interested in adopting me. Little did he know Lady had already asked God for a little black and tan wienie dog! We’ve been together for almost eight years now. I’ll be eleven in May. I blog about my adventures, and life in Asia. I often compare India and China. My first language is Chinese, then English, Korean, Kannada, and Hindi, but I only speak Dogese. I don’t have a very large readership yet. Lady helps me write as my nails get stuck on the keyboard.”

Stop by Marley’s World & give him a big Blogville hello!

And that adorable pup above?  That’s Henry & he is Pet Blogs United’s Featured Blogger this week.  He’s got 4 followers & I bet we could make that a higher number, right?  Stop by PBU to hear Henry’s story.  Today’s his second birthday!

Stop by & make some new friends today 🙂  Tell ’em Oskar sent ya!

Surrounded By Love

As the news about Miss Judi weighs heavy on our minds, we are evermore thankful to be part of this community, even when it breaks our hearts.

Here in my little corner of the world, I am surrounded by love, even when I am alone.

The pillow says “Around here the Miniature Schnauzer is in charge,” and it’s from my brothers from another mother, JD & Max.

The quilt you see on the back of the couch was made by my monnie (my mom person’s mom).  It was made from all the materials that used to cover tables at my people’s wedding.

The red bit on top of the blue afghan is a placemat with my face on it made by Miss Agnes.

The blue afghan was made by my mom person’s grandmother for her in 1982.  She was an amazing woman & knit the afghan without a pattern.

The quilt at the bottom of the pile is another on made by my monnie.  It’s made from scraps, including scraps from clothing that her mother wore before she passed last year.  That was my mom person’s other grandmother.

So you see even when my mom person & I are here alone, we are surrounded by love.

We pray that Miss Judi is always surrounded by love too.

My Red Boots

First we have to thank you for the outpouring of love & support for my mom person.  Sometimes she thinks that if it weren’t for blog friends she would have totally lost it years ago.  The honest truth is that without her medications for bi-polar, life is really hard for her right now, but her shrink wrote her an actual prescription to blog every day, so hopefully we’ll be around to see you all soon.

Now back to ME!  In case you didn’t know, I have red boots.  They go on during mud season so I get less mud between my toesies.  No I prefer to have the mud, but since it leads to baths I deal with the boots.

I’ve actually decided that I look quite dapper in my boots.

They contrast nicely with my furs & my favorite toy, Blue.

They are disposable, and are like little balloons for my feet, so they don’t absorb the dirt from outside.

I fight when they have to go on, but secretly that’s just so my people don’t get the idea that they are in charge!

Off I go!

And Then Her Whole Head Turned Yellow!

So I’ve been gone for like 6,987 days even thought it says right up there “The Daily Oskar.

Well, so my mom person wasn’t feeling very good.  She kept getting dizzier & weaker & I got very much worried about her.

She went to the emergency room & they said “hmm, her eyebulbs is yellow!”  Then all the Dr.’s talked and decided to keep her there where I can’t make her better!

My mom person said she woke up the next day in the hosptial and her whole head had turned yellow!  Now yellow is her favorite color, but this was not an attractive look.  She said she looked like Lisa Simpson!

They kept her there for 6 nights trying to figure out why her liver was giving her the yellow making jaundice.  She doesn’t drink the al-ke-hols, so they decided that it was her Bi-polar medications, which keep her from being a total miserable spaz, that was tickin’ off her liver.  They took away all of the medicines that made her feel like a whole happy, person inside & now she’s back to being a miserable spaz.  An unhappy one.

She goes to her brain Dr. tomorrow to try & figure out how to make her bi-polars calm the heck down.

And I get to be nappin’ right along with her to make sure that those yellow heebie-jeebies don’t get her again.

If you could all cross your paws that they get her feelin’ good again I would really appreciate it.  She’s been gone to this hospital waaaaaaay too many times.  On a selfish note, I have heard whispers of a nudie-cut in my future, so crossed paws for me may be in order too!

Her Last Marble Just Rolled Away!

Oskar here to tell you what time it is at our house.  5:36 AM.  Now for some of you that might be a normal time to wake up, but my mom person never went to bed!

She got on some kind of manic streak & decided to tackle her inbox which had over 4,700 e-mails that had to be sorted and some even responded to.  4,700!  How do you let it get that bad.

And while I admire her commitment, couldn’t she do it like a normal person and do them a hundred or so at a time?

I can’t sleep because she keeps conversing with me, at 5:30 in the morning!

Ugh, the things we have to put up with all because we don’t have any thumbs and are not tall enough to reach the cookie jar.

A very sleepy Oskar signing off & heading back to dreamland.
