My Christmas Quilt Is Back!

Some of you may remember the pawsome Christmas quilt that my mom persons mom made several years ago.  We are lucky enough that she has made us a lot of quilts, but this one is my favorite.

Based on the weak evidence in this picture, my mom person thinks I might be spoiled.

I really don’t know why she would say that.

I think this look says it all…

Don’t get between me and my Christmas quilt!

Pee Ess ~ I drew the winner of the Iams gift basket & I’m happy to announce it’s Murphy & Stanley.  We sent you an e-mail to get your info, doods.

Adoptable Pets Of The Week From Dogtime

It’s time to meet two more adoptable pets from Dogtime.com’s Adoptable Pet Of The Week Program. Here are a two pawsome pets who are available on their Adoptable Animal Finder

Adoptable Dog Of The Week

Darling Molly

Breed: Shih Tzu (medium coat)

Age: Adult

Sex: Female

Size: Small

Shelter: TreeTops Animal Rescue

Location: Landenburg, PA 19350

11/26/12 Darling Molly is scheduled to come up on Dec. 15th. She will have a wellness visit and also be evaluated by her foster mom once here. Currently she is in foster care down south undergoing Heart Worm treatment. She is almost done. We will update her and take more pics and video when she comes in. PLEASE SEE THE INFO PROVIDED FROM THE SHELTER FOR NOW. If you are seriously interested in her, please fill out an application now because small dogs with this personality go fast. Please make sure you read our ADOPTION INFO page before you apply. It is located at the left of our Home Page.

SHELTER EVAL: Molly weighs 15 lbs. Molly is a cute, sweet, happy, easy going dog. She has thrived on love & attention at Wendy’s. She is housetrained & also knows how to use the doggie door when it is available. The doggie door goes from the outside into a doggie room & not directly into the house. She has stayed inside the majority of the time because of heartworm treatment. She likes people, is playful, & gets along well with dogs of all sizes & kittens & cats. She plays well with Wendy’s neice who is 8 years old but has not been exposed to young kids. She likes playing with stuffed animals. She loves to ride in the car. She came to visit me & my 4 dogs tonight & she seemed to feel right at home. It didn’t take long for her to find a stuffed animal to carry around. Wendy calls Molly a Diva because she does not like for her feet to be on grass. That seems so interesting to me because she lived on grass in a lady’s back yard all the time until Wendy got her.????? Molly really is a precious dog. She will make a wonderful pet because she has a good demeanor.

Pet ‘Net 2012 ~ Basic Black Is Always Chic

 Pet Net Contributor

When looking to adopt a pet please consider adopting one in basic black. In shelters, black animals are often last to be adopted and first to be euthanized.

Superstitions about black cats being bad luck and black dogs being mean are ingrained in the minds of many people leaving far too many loving, ebony colored animals without a chance for a happy life.

Shelter workers all over the country deal with this color bias every day and strive to showcase the loving nature of these pets.

Some reasons to consider adopting a black pet:

They always match your décor
Their hair won’t show up on your favorite black pants
Any color collar or bandana looks great on them
You can name them fun ironic names like Snowball
You’ll never lose them in a snowstorm
Because they’re black they always look fashionably thin
They hide dirt well
They won’t clash with any other pet you may have

Some of the reasons that black pets are less likely to be adopted is because they are harder to photograph, causing many people to pass by their pictures on adoption websites in favor of a more photogenic, seemingly “cuter” pet.

Since black pets are often readily available, consider adopting a pair if your household is able. They can keep each other company and will make a striking addition to your household.

There will be a voting module on the Pet ‘Net hub page for visitors to enter their zip code. Once all the zips are tallied, a $5000 donation from Petside.com will be given to a local animal shelter in the winning community. The winning shelter will be announced on Dec. 17.

Circumstantial Evidence At Best

This is an bowl of jambalaya.  My boy Jack had prepared it for himself and then left it on a low lying table.

Jack claims that he actually prepared more food than this in an accusatory fashion, that I didn’t care for.  For some reason all eyes were on me.

My people took this picture of me purporting that they found suspicious bits of rice in my woozle.

Now I ask you ladies & gentlemen of Blogville, can you make out any jambalaya in my woozle in this picture?  I contend that the evidence is of poor quality & is therefore inconclusive.  No one checked the cat’s faces.  I think they may have colluded against me, but I have no proof.

Innocent until proven guilty, I say.

On a completely unrelated note, I’m hoping my dad person makes more jambalaya soon.

Adoptable Pets Of The Week From Dogtime.com

We are pleased to be part of Dogtime.com’s Adoptable Pet Of The Week Program. Here are a couple of pets from their Adoptable Animal Finder

Adoptable Dog Of The Week

Hershey Kiss the Cocker Spaniel

Breed: Cocker Spaniel

Age: Young

Sex: Female

Size Medium

Shelter: Shorewood Cocker Rescue, Inc.

Location Twin Lakes, WI 53181

Hershey Kiss is a 2 – 3 year old chocolate and white cocker spaniel. She lives up to her name; when you sit down, she comes up to smother you with kisses! Hershey is a friendly, happy, lively, interested, and adorable pup, who came to the rescue from Houston, Texas. She adapted to our home and our other dogs very quickly. Hershey loves to run in the yard, and sit on your lap. She is house trained, though she is a submissive wetter, so if you get too excited to see her, she will pee. If you let her get used to the situation before you greet her, she is fine. Hershey is also crate trained.

Hershey entertains herself with stuffed animals, though has trouble distinguishing her toys from the sheets on the couch, socks on the floor, leashes, etc.! She does learn quickly though, and will stop any behavior when told to stop. She walks well on a leash and plays well with cats.

Hershey Kiss would make a wonderful family pet.

We do not encourage adoptions to families with young children. We are very concerned about the well being of your children as well as that of our dogs. We realize that each case is different and our adopting dogs to families with children 10 years of age or older will be based not only on the children’s age but their exposure and experience with the Cocker Spaniel and other dog breeds. Sorry but we will not place a dog in a family with a child under 10 years of age, unless there is already a dog living in that home.
