Oskar Cooks Birthday Cake

Photobucket

In honor of two of my favorite schnauzers, JD & Max I’m posting this recipe for birthday cake. Their birthday is coming up & I wanted to post something that their people could make for them that is yummy and pup friendly.

Peanut Butter and Carrot Birthday Cake with Yogurt Frosting

1 cup white or whole wheat flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/4 cup peanut butter

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1 cup shredded carrots

1 tsp vanilla

1/3 cup honey

1 egg

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C)

Mix together flour and baking soda.

Add remaining ingredients and mix well.

Pour into a ring mold sprayed with a nonstick spray and bake for 40 minutes.

Frost this cake with low fat cottage cheese or yogurt and decorate with carrot pieces. Store in refrigerator.

I think this is a great recipe for JD & Max because I know they love carrots & yogurt.

  8. That's a lot like the cake mom made for me, and it was yummy! She put some bacon bits on top for decoration on the (light) Philly cream cheese frosting – that was my favorite part!!
