Camping Stories, Part 1

So my mom person & I took off for the great outdoors and had a great time. I have lots of adventures to share with you including my journey to find JD & Max, but we’ll get to that in a day or so.

The start of the trip started out in a most undignified way for me. I don’t have a carseat yet, so I had to be strapped into my crate. You can’t see it in this picture, but my crate was fastened to the seat.

Once we got there there was a ton of pee-mail to check out.

Photobucket

There were even some signs of spring, among all of last years fallen leaves.

Photobucket

Wait, I smell something familiar…

Photobucket

Right here next to me. It’s the elusive wild red chewy toy in it’s natural wild life setting. I need to be still so as not to let it know that I have found it and am about to pounce.

Photobucket

Rawr! I make my move & quickly wrestle the chewy into submission.

Photobucket

It even has one of my favorite treats inside…I wonder how this got here?

Photobucket

Ah-ha, sweet victory is mine!

Photobucket

I think now that I’ve vanquished my first wild predator, it’s time for a little rest.

Photobucket

No, your not imagining things, my mom person’s socks are in fact mis-matched. She actually buys them that way *cookoo-cookoo*

We’ll be back soon with more adventures from our trip!

  1. Looks like a great spot for fun. Watch out for those red things, there could be a few more feral ones.

  2. Hi Oskar

You were very brave to hunt down and subdue that wild chewy thing. And you look very handsome in your woodsdog's jacket.

I don't have a crate to travel in. Or at all. When my human chauffeurs me around, I wear my walking harness, and we have a special seatbelt that the harness clips onto. And my human has put some rubbery foamy stuff on the seat so I don't slide around on the fabric.

We're doing a roadtrip soon to visit my grand(hu)ma and her two schnauzers. It's going to take us three days to drive there. I don't have a carseat – maybe I should ask my human to get me one so I can give her helpful tips about the best way to drive and which way to go.

I look forward to hearing more about your camping trip – maybe it will convince my human to take me camping!

  3. Oskar, that be so embarressing having your momma wear mis matched sox…on PURPOSE!

Don't feel too bad though, sometimes our momma wears her jammies to walk us in the morning and they sometimes have crazy things on them like ice cream cones all over! weird. and she doen't get why we always try to lick her pants. helllooooo.

  4. Oh – that looks like a great camping trip already! And my human says she loves your Mom-person's socks – much more creative than having boring, matching pairs! 🙂

  5. Wow – you beat us out there big time! Big Earl is at the shop for the next two weeks, which just kills us on a beautiful weekend like we'll be having!! Hope the R&R is good for your momma (maybe she'll even start matching her socks again…). Hope you hunt down some more of those feral toys!!

  10. I love how you showed that red chewy toy who's boss, Oskar. And I love your mom's socks – I have a pair (set? they come in threes!) too!

  11. Hi Oskar,

Oh wow – we bet all the creatures of the woods quaked in their boots when you turned up! You certainly showed that wild chewy who was boss and NO mistake!!

Looks like you had a great time, we can't wait to hear more about it. We loved that photo of you snuggling your mom person – we like to snuggle like that too, FH calls it our 'sandwich snuggle' as we like to feel safely snuggled with a leg on either side, he he he! And we LOVE your mom person's socks, she's cool!
