For Thanksgiving two great bloggers are hosting fun events. Frankie Furter, Mayor of Blogville wants to know what we want to give our peoples for Christmas & the lovely Miss Minna Krebs wants to hear our adoption story.
Well for Christmas I’d like to get my boy John the new fancy-schmancy phone he would like, the HTC Evo
For my boy Jack I would like to get lots of pair of custom made Converse.
For my dad person I would like to get a wooden canoe that he has always wanted.
And for my mom person I would like to get this cool book reading thingy called a Kindle.
If I had the green papers I would buy all of these to make my people as happy as they always make me.
Now for my adoption story.
My people looked for a long time to come up with a doggie that was the right fit for the family. After about a year of research they decided on a minature schnauzer!
My people didn’t really know about doggie rescues groups, as silly as that seems now. They found a very reputable breeder, but didn’t have the funds to purchase a puppy. Well my mom person called in on a radio show and won front row center seats to a Neil Diamond concert. She was able to sell those on E-bay for enough money for a purebred schnauzer puppy.

My mom was an all white miniature schnauzer who was bred with an all black miniature schnauzer. She had 8 black babies!
My mom person originally wanted a girl puppy & wanted to name her Pansy. All of the girl puppies were spoken for, so they picked me. Since my dad person is German & schanuzers are German they decided to give me a German name & Oskar stuck!

That's a nice story of your adoption. Now I get to know you a little bit more. As for those gifts for your people, I'm sure they are just as happy knowing that you would get them all those stuff if you had the green papers.
That is a wonderful story. Sometimes your dog has to pick you, right? Momma and master were hoping for a blond gal when they got PeeWee, but breeder lady knew me and said that Dexter was the right dog to live with me and she sure called that one. I secretly love the little dude.
In fact, ever since he came to live here I kind of like all little black doggies. Even yourself.

So, you have Neil Diamond to thank for your happy home, Oskar? I think that's a unique gotcha story and it's great. Those tickets must have gone for a LOT of green papers to buy a purebred puppy. No wonder Blog Mom and Daddy don't get out much.

M says she didn't know about pure breds being in shelters either, so she adopted her Fritz from a breeder. He's been OTRB now for 20 years, but she says he was such a good doggie & she really loved him. You were so fortunate dat your ooman found you, cuz you have a very good home.

Funny, that sounds a lot like Brutus' story! Mom wanted a fawn female (would have named her Chamois), but ended up with our crazy black boy instead BOL! I think it's most wonderful that your pawrents researched different kinds of doggies to find the right one for them. There sure are a lotta peoples that don't do that. And I think that's why so many doggies end up at shelters. I'm so very much glad you all found each other!
And those pressies are AWESOME! Hey, maybe you can win some more Neil Whateverhisnameis tickets and sell them for enough green papers to get all that stuff for them!
