My People’s Earth Day Training

For Earth Day, my peeps went to an Adopt-a-Stream event to learn how to volunteer for the Clinton River Watershed Council.

They learned how to collect bugs and data twice a year to help measure the health of a stretch of the river.

Here she goes in her waders into the stream.  She wants me to tell you that her butt is not that big, it’s the waders…yeah right!

They had little nets to capture bugs in and had to sample different areas of the river to collect a wide variety.

Here she is digging in.

And she was very proud that she made it back out of the river without falling on her wader-enlarged butt.

I was not invited to the event, but I’m proud of them for doing something good for Earth Day.  I celebrated my earth by roaching around in my back yard.

I'm sure you kept a good eye on the house while your people were off saving the world. You never know when more cats will try and invade.

  5. Hi Oskar! What a great Earth Day your human's had. How wonderful of them to make a difference.

  10. Water a great thing to do!! It also looks like lots of fun 🙂

Our human did that once, but it was in the extremely cold waters of a mountain river! She also had no waders 🙁

    We love the waders 🙂

    Lots of slobbers,

  11. That sounds like a really worthwhile project. Elliot is partial to catching bugs but the problem is, they go straight down his throat!

  12. Thanks for making Mommy chuckle about the waders making your Mommy's butt look big. Mommy has nets on a stick she keeps in the house that she got from the dollar store. She calls them her stink bug nets. Whenever a stink bug gets in the house, she takes the stink bug net and frees the bug outside. (We hope she is helping the environment by freeing the stink bugs.)

  13. Hello Oskar, fanks fur bisiting me!
It sure looks like your mommy had fun in the water… Me not understands why anyone would want to be in the water, but if the bugs are good eating, maybe her has a plan!
Me likes your Earth Day doings much better.

  14. A wonderful way for your mom to celebrate Earth Day! And tell her that waders make everyone's butt look big so don't worry about it!
